On Tuesday 19th March, pupils and staff took part in the STEM Family Challenge led by Rickardo Telfer from EDT Industrial Cadets.

The aim of the session was to encourage female pupils to consider careers in STEM and STEAM. As well as a careers talk, pupils and their family members were challenged to construct their own vehicle that was to be powered by an elastic band.

The aim of the challenge was to gain the greatest distance with the car, as well as to make the car aesthetically pleasing.

Pupils, staff and family members all enjoyed the event, with all pupils in attendance stating that they felt more encouraged to pursue a career in this field.
